A region as big as Goldfields-Esperance needs someone with experience just as vast. Luckily Bev Pack, our Parenting Coordinator for Goldfields Esperance, has the experience to match all 771,276 square kilometres of it!

With over 30 years’ experience of working with local families and children, Bev has a rich insight into the diversity and challenges facing families in the Goldfields. Her robust set of skills allows her to work with families from all walks of life – especially in the area she’s most passionate about – supporting families who are disadvantaged or marginalised.

Bev has always had a passion to work with children. Graduating from high school, she originally wanted to become a kindergarten teacher but ended up qualifying as childcare educator. Her 25-year career in the Community Services Sector began with role in a Long Day Care and ended with her coordinating a Family Day Care centre.

Bev’s guiding principle is to always have an open ear. Whether it’s for mothers, fathers, grandparents, educators, or children – with the insight that they’re not always needing someone to solve their problems, but many times just want someone to converse with and listen.

Always community minded, when Bev’s not wearing her PCWA guernsey, she’s either chairing the Goldfields Early Years Strategy Group or volunteering or acting as a committee member for many services that assist individuals, families, and children in the region.

Her parenting journey itself has had it challenges, hurdles to overcome, but her most rewarding achievement is raising successful children that fight for a purpose. She finds no higher merit than being a mother to her three amazing sons (and numerous chickens).

Her hands-on experience, coupled with her “think outside the box” mentality, frames the way she approaches life and work. Bev believes her interest in helping parents and advocating for the rights of families and children in her supportive and collaborative community is central to raising happy resilient children and families.
